The AFCJF is an organization of American distributors, retailers, importers and end users of engineered wood flooring as well as lumber exporters and other U.S. companies whose jobs depend on open competition, the global supply chain and freedom of choice for consumers.
The AFCJF was formed to oppose the Petition petition filed in October
2010 with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), asking to
have tariffs on engineered multilayered hardwood flooring from
China. The Petition has since been affirmed. The AFCJF and other
respondents were successful in keeping initial rates low. We are
now turning our focus on helping importers continue their business
growth under the trade order. We are hosting educational
seminars for our membership on issues such as working with customs,
the Review process, the appeal process, and limiting retroactive
liability risk.
This Petition has been about large corporations trying to eliminate American independent distribution and private label programs. We
encourage importers and other companies that rely on free trade to
join our group to avoid being caught up by one of the complicated
regulations that have been imposed upon you.
